Newlywed woman killed for ‘honour’

A 19-year-old newlywed woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband on suspicion of having an extra-marital relationship with her alleged paramour in Ali Nawaz Jakhrani village on Sunday.

According to Mouladad police station writing head constable Manzoor Ali Soomro, Shafique Ahmed Jakhrani opened fire on his wife identified as Gul Jahan for having illicit relationship with Sardar Brohi, and then managed to flee from the scene.

The area police rushed to the spot and shifted the deceased’s body to the Civil Hospital Jacobabad for autopsy.

Meanwhile, further investigation is underway.
