Police encounter kills eight terrorists in Karachi

KARACHI: Police forces killed eight suspected terrorists, allegedly involved in sectarian violence, in an encounter in Malir’s Bakra Peeri locality.

Police sources confirmed that the encounter had resulted in the death of Tehrik-e-Taliban’s Tank district leader Gul Zaman, who was allegedly planning to conduct a terrorist attack in the city. The terrorists were based in Afghanistan and the Wadh area of Balochistan

The operation also resulted in the death of a Jamatul Ahrar member as well as a potential suicide bomber, who was reportedly only 15 years old.

A laptop bomb, among other weapons, was recovered from the site.
