Habib Jan, while addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club (KPC), said that the people of Lyari, despite their undying love for Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and late Benazir Bhutto had chosen to vote against the Zardari Group in Lyari.
“If the Zardari Group tries to exact revenge on the people of Lyari for Bilawal’s defeat, our fight will go beyond boundaries of Lyari to Larkana, Dubai and London,” warned Habib Jan before adding that the people of Lyari were hoping that the incoming Prime Minister Imran Khan would resolve their long awaited problems. “The people of Lyari want to be compensated for the crimes committed against them. During the 2002 security operation, innocent people of Lyari were killed,” he said, adding that dwellers of Lyari had remained unattended and largely by past rulers.
During the press conference, Habib Jan said that the people of Lyari wanted the next government to provide 20,000 jobs to the educated youth. “The people of Lyari also demand low cost housing,” he added.
“We want the new government to appoint a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to unearth facts in the cases against Uzair Baloch,” demanded the Alliance chairman.
“We would cooperate with all forces intending to work for the welfare of Lyari. We have scratched out all enmities of past,” mentioned Habib Jan.
The Alliance, while congratulating Imran Khan and his party for winning elections, expressed the hope that PTI would come out for the welfare of the people of the country and people of Lyari in particular.
