PPP will continue to serve masses, says newly elected MPA Munawar Ali Wasan

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Munawar Hussain Wasan and the first-time elected candidate for the provincial assembly seat PS-27, a constituency of Khairpur-II, on Saturday termed his win as ‘a victory of the general public’.

In his talk to the media, he asserted that PPP strived to secure democratic norms in the country.

“Wasan family has served the general public of Sindh for many decades,” he said and expressed determination to work together without any discrimination to strengthen democracy for serving people in Pakistan.

A large number of people and party workers were present on the occasion.

RO approves Nawab Wasan’s application to recount votes in PS-32

The PPP leader Nawab Ali Khan Wasan on Saturday alleged that his defeat in PS-32, constituency of Gambat, was a result of poll rigging.

Reportedly, he claimed to have evidences of rigging, and vowed to seek justice through the court of law.

Wasan submitted an application to the returning officer (RO) for PS-32 for recounting the votes.

The RO issued notice to the winning candidate Syed Muhammad Rashid Shah to appear before him on the following day.

PPP secured all three national and six out of the total seven provincial assembly seats of Khairpur district.

PTI activists carry out celebration rally in Khairpur

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists on Saturday organised a rally in Khairpur to celebrate their victory in the general elections-2018.

Reportedly, the rally, led by PTI district president Syed Shakir Ali Shah and general secretary Dr Wajid Pervez Mahar, was initiated from Marium Tope and culminated at Chatri Chowk.

Later, PTI leaders addressed the participants and lauded PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s recent speech to the general public of Pakistan after claiming a leading position in the election results.

They asserted that his speech comprehended the party’s manifesto regarding human development.

They further said that corruption would be eradicated from the grass-root level and all influential businessmen, traders, feudal lords and politicians would be held accountable.

A large number of people and PTI activists were present on the occasion.
