KARACHI: Former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)’s leader Sardar Nabil Ahmed Khan Gabol has rejoined its mother party PPP after a gap of almost four years.

Nabil Gabol was also accompanied by his son Nadir Gabol, when both of them met with the PPP Parliamentarians President Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House on Wednesday and later announced to rejoin the PPP.

In March 2013, Nabil Gabol had left the PPP after two decades of association to join the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He has also served as an MNA from Lyari with the PPP. At the time, Gabol claimed that he was being sidelined and the PPP was no more a party of Benazir Bhutto and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

During the 2013 general elections, MQM awarded its most important seat in the National Assembly, NA-246, to Gabol. The constituency comprises of areas which include party’s headquarters Nine Zero and party strongholds Liaquatabad and F. B. Area.

Later in February 24 2015, Gabol also resigned as member of the National Assembly seat as well as from the MQM over differences which arose between Gabol and the MQM leadership.
