LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Khawaja Saad Rafique who was contesting against Pakistan Tehreek i Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in NA-131 has challenged the results.
Saad Rafique was defeated by a narrow margin of 680 votes. Imran Khan was able to bag 84,313 and Rafique was closely following behind with 83,633 votes. Rafique has filed an application addressing the presiding officer of NA-131 Muhammad Akhtar Bhangu, claiming that the officer did not count hundreds of votes and that he wants a recounting of all the votes in NA-131.
He has also requested that until all the votes are recounted, no notification should be issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding the winner of the constituency.
