Reportedly, he gave a curt and blunt press conference at Larkana press club which was followed by a demonstration, led by PPP district president Abdul Fatah Bhutto, in front of DRO’s office in Larkana.
Meanwhile, scores of PPP activists gathered including Noordin Abro, Khair Muhammad Shaikh and others, and threatened to continue protesting until the results were announced.
“24 hours have been passed since the voting process ended, and neither form 45 was issued nor results were being announced,” he claimed, adding that PPP strived to secure the sanctity of the public mandate while their polling agents were thrown out and instead ‘irrelevant’ persons worked inside several polling stations.
He further alleged that the brother of Rashid Mahmood Soomro, PPP’s political rival, was seen sitting inside a polling station with his supporters, and said that election results were being made suspicious by such activities.
“Eight billion rupees were spent to conduct the general elections peacefully and transparently, but the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has failed to do so,” he said, adding that results of 45 polling stations in Larkana were pending.
Moreover, Jamil Soomro said that results of other candidates were being announced except PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and maintained that if results were not announced then how PTI has secured 120 seats.
“PPP has been awaiting results of 100 polling stations of Lyari,” he said, adding that Bilawal has been leading with majority of the votes in NA-105.
