Sir: I want to draw your attention towards a problem that is faced by most citizens. The Sewerage system in many areas of the city is ineffective, leading to several problems for the local residents.
Surprisingly many people in the country do not pay too much attention to this issue, claiming it is not worth their time. Yet this might be among the biggest problems facing Pakistanis for years. People all over the world lose their lives due to terrible sewerage every year, as it can lead to unhealthy living habits, which in turn gives rise to disease, and in our country the numbers of deaths caused by this factor are amongst the highest in the world.
However, it is important to note that the current situation is not only the fault of the government alone. We have ourselves to blame as well, as not many people put in any effort to keep their neighbourhoods clean or follow the guidelines laid out by the state. We need to change our own thinking on the subject and make sure we follow the instructions on getting rid of our waste as provided by the government. Even though they might deserve it at times, we cannot blame the state for every wrong prevalent in our society today.
It is now high time that we should think about this issue and try to solve the sewerage problem in the city and the country as a whole. The reason behind writing this letter is to implore the concerned authorities to take some action regarding this issue, and hope that they can provide the people with a much needed respite soon.
