SHOPIAN: At least three Indian Army personnel and a woman were killed after some unknown armed persons attacked a patrolling party in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to reports in the Indian Media.
Four other army personnel were also injured in the ambush. The woman was killed the crossfire. Three of the injured personnel were stated to be in a critical condition. Security forces have cordoned off the area and search operations are currently underway.
A police official said the militants attacked the security forces patrol which was going for a cordon and search operation in Chittargam area of Shopian. He claimed that three army personnel were killed in the attack while a woman, Jana begum, died after getting hit by a stray bullet.
