Durrani escapes attack on vehicle in Bannu

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) candidate Akram Khan Durrani’s vehicle was fired at on Sunday, according to police.However, he remained unhurt in the incident.

Durrani was en route to an election meeting in BasiaKhel when shots were fired at his vehicle by unidentified gunmen, who fled after the attack.No one was injured in the incident.

Durrani is contesting general election on a Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal(MMA) ticket against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan from NA-35 (Bannu).

The JUI-F leader’s convoy was also attacked on July 13 in Bannu while he was leaving an election rally, resulting in the death of four people and injuries to several others. Durrani has served as federal minister for housing and works in the last federal government and is also a former chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
