ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz met their counsels at Adiala Jail on Saturday.
The legal team comprising Nawaz’s counsel Khawaja Haris and Maryam’s lawyer Amjad Pervaiz met the duo as well as Captain (r) Safdar at the Adiala Jail, where the three are currently serving their jail term following their conviction in the Avenfield corruption reference.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Amjad Pervaiz said, “Mian Sb is determined and hopeful. However, he feels he is not being given the facilities that he should have been,” he added.
Speaking about Capt (r) Safdar, Maryam’s counsel said, “He is a heart patient and his medical records are available to prove it. However, he does not want to seek any medical facilities beyond those offered in the jail manual.” “Maryam also does not want to avail better facilities at jail,” he added.
Earlier on Thursday, a pre-arranged meeting between lawyers and the father-daughter duo was cancelled by jail authorities.
