KANDHKOT: Three persons, including a driver and a cleaner of a vehicle, were kidnapped by dacoits, in the jurisdiction of Ghoraghat Police Station, in Kandhkot on Thursday.
According to SHO Ghoraghat, Umeed Ali Jagirani, a trawler driver, its cleaner, and another occupant named Allah Bux, were allegedly kidnapped by a few armed dacoits when they were returning after getting the material from Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) sub office Kandhkot. Upon receiving the information, police cordoned off the area and during an exchange of fire, two police officers identified as Ghulam Ali Bahlkani and Gagan Sabzoi sustained bullet wounds. A search operation is currently underway for the hostages and the individuals responsible.
Shahid Hussain Mirani, an official from the Kandhkot police force confirmed the incident and said that police was making efforts to recover the kidnapped men. According to sources, SSP Fida Hussain Janwari himself was monitoring the operation as of the filing of this news report.
The injured police cops were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment where the condition of the injured cops is said to be stable.
