Security in the city is on high alert and during the first week, PSCA officials have checked more than 2,182 vehicles.
According to details, the record of 243 vehicles was not found correct while 50 vehicles were carrying fake number plates. A total of 76 cars have so far been sent to respective police stations for further investigation due to fake number plates or lack of vehicle documents.
The spokesperson of the PSCA said that 11 FIRs have been logged against the owners for having illegal vehicles. These vehicles include two Mercedes, three Land Cruisers, two Toyota Hilux and a Honda BRV. This action has been taken irrespective of individual’s capacity or position and everyone is equal under law.
In the first week, 171 vehicles were blacklisted against which legal action would be taken. Fines have been imposed on dozens of vehicles due to certain violations. This ongoing campaign will continue 24/7 as per the directions of IG Punjab.
PSCA and police are working together for establishing peace in the city.
