ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Judo Federation (PJF) has announced a seven-member national squad who will feature in this year’s Asian Games to be held in Indonesia from August 18 to September 2. “The squad comprises four males and three female judokas,” PJF secretary general said Mansoor Ahmad said Friday. Shah Hussain Shan, Qaisar Khan Afridi, Babar Hussain and Nadeem Akram are in the men’s team while the women judokas include Humaira Ashiq, Maryam Ahmed and Amina Toyoda. The PJF official added: “Our squad comprises best available talent from across the country and all the players are all working hard to achieve best results not only in the upcoming Asian Games but also in other future international events too. The PJF is in contact with the Pakistan Sports Board and the Pakistan Olympic Association for teams participating in the Asian Games.” After withdrawing all court cases as per an IOC agreement, the PJF now believes that the POA and the PSB will ensure team’s participation in the Asian Games.
