Swat: past results and upcoming electoral contests

From NA 2 (old 30), Saleem-ur-Rehman of PTI secured 49,887 votes in 2013, while the runnerup was Amir Muqam who secured 32,853 votes. For 2018 election, Amir Muqam from the PMLN will contest against former MNA from PTI, Haider Ali Khan; Mumtaz Ahmad of the ANP; and PPP candidate Amjad Ali Khan.

NA 4 is the new constituency in Swat. PTI’s former MNA Murad Saeed is contesting against Mohammad Salim Khan of the ANP, Feroz Shah of the PMLN, Qari Mehmood of the MMA and PPP’s Qamar Zaman. Allah-0-Akbar Tehreek’s Ibrahim and Tehreek-Labbaik Pakistan’s Mohammad Raza Khan are also in the race.

In 2013 election, Mian Jaffar Shah of ANP secured 14,344 votes to win Pk 2, while the runner-up was Mian Sharafat Ali who secured 13,765 votes. In 2018, Mian Sharafat Ali has quit PML-N and is contesting the election on the PTI ticket.

On PK 2, Mian Jaffar Shah of ANP, Amir Muqam of PMLN, Nawazish Ali of PTI and MMA’s Bakht Amin are the contenders.

From PK 3 (old 86), Qaimous Khan of PML-N secured 10,687 votes, while the runner-up was Ali Shah who secured 10,302 votes. Dr Haider Khan of PTI secured 10,028 votes. In 2014 by-election after the disqualification of PML-N candidate Qaimous Khan, PTI’s Haider Khan secured 17,438 and won the seat. For 2018 electoral race, Haider Ali Khan of PTI, Sardar Khan of PML-N, Ali Shah of JUI-F, Fazal Wahab of ANP and Mohammad Shahi Khan of PPP are strong candidates.

From PK4 (old81), in 2013 general election, Aziz ullah Khan of Jamaat Islami secured 13,067 votes against Habib Ali Shah of JUIF who got 11,656 and Sheheryar Amir Zeb of PML-N who secured 10,453 votes.

For 2018 general election, Amir Muqam of PMLN, Azizullah Khan of PTI, Asim Ullah Khan of ANP, and Sanaullah Khan of MMA are the bigwigs in the electoral race.

In PK 5 (old 80), Fazl-e-Hakim of PTI secured 18,080 votes in 2013 general election, against JI’s Mohammad Amin who got 11,863, Hujjatullah of JUI-F who got 9,410, and Amir Muqam of PML-N who got 7,044 votes. For 2018 general election, the strongest candidates are Fazl-e-Hakim of PTI, Mohammad Amin of JI, Irshad Ali of PML-N, and Wajid Ali Khan of ANP.

In PK 7 (old 82), Amjid Ali of PTI secured 15,086 votes against Waqar Ahmad Khan of ANP who got 9,050 votes, and Amir Muqam of PML-N who secured 7,932 votes. For the 2018 election, the strongest contenders are Amjad Ali of PTI, Waqar Ahmad of ANP, Abdul Ghaffor of PML-N and Hussain Ahmad of MMA.

In PK 8(old 83), Muhibullah Khan of PTI secured 10,995, PML-N candidate Haji Jalat Khan secured 8,772, and Hussain Ahmad of JI secured 5,753. For the 2018 general election, the major contenders are Muhib ullah of PTI, Fazle Subhan of MMA, Azmat Ali Shah of PMLN, and Sher Shah Khan of the ANP.

In PK9 (old 84), in 2013, PTI’s Mahmood Khan secured 11,071, Mohammad Ayub from ANP secured 8,038, Dost Mohammad Khan of PMLN secured 6,480, and Syed Akbar Khan 6066 votes. For the 2018 general election, Mahmood Khan from PTI, Amjid Ali from MMA, Abdullah Khan from PMLN, Mohammad Ayub Khan ANP, and Syed Nasir Ali Shah from PPP are in the contest.

PK 6 is a new constituency and strong candidates here are Amjad Ali Shah of PTI, Habib Ali Shah of PMLN, Raza Khan of ANP, and Shahi Nawab of MMA.
