The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) with the collaboration of Excise & Taxation department would start an e-Challaning system in the near future in the provincial metropolis.

This was decided in a meeting between Excise & Taxation Secretary Babar Shafi, director general Masoodul Haq and PSCA Chief Operating Officer Akbar Nasir Khan on Thursday. The rendezvous focused e-challaning in the city and issuance of newly designed number plates to the citizens.

During the meeting, the E&T secretary announced imminent issuance of newly designed E&T approved number plates while the old ones remain still valid temporarily for citizen’s comfort. The latest design has built in capacity that strengthens traffic regulation and helps in monitoring, curbing and fining the violations, he added while appreciating an equally vigilant PSCA ETC framework with their counterparts from CTP.
