GUJRANWALA: The Gujranwala deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Shoaib Tariq Warriach on Thursday imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on three violators of the electoral code of conduct including two local bodies’ members.
Reportedly, the DC received reports regarding certain violations of electoral code of conduct during election campaigns.
Consequently, the labour councilor Nasir Mehmood Khokhar, the union council chairman Haji Muhammad Khalid and an independent candidate Rana Sarfraz were imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 each.
Meanwhile, six candidates have been summoned by the DC on July 21.
PHC seals 25 clinics of quacks in Gujranwala
The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) teams on Thursday sealed dozens of clinics of quacks and their laboratories in Gujranwala.
Reportedly, PHC teams along with district administration officers visited various parts of the city and sealed 25 clinics of quacks and the laboratories that were being run without pathologists.
Woman attempts suicide in Chenab
A 45-year-old woman tried to commit suicide by drowning into deep waters of Upper Chenab River. Reportedly, Farzana suddenly jumped into the river.
Meanwhile, a Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and fished her out.
