Tevez wants Messi to ‘stay’ for Argentina

Lionel Messi is without any doubt the best player the world has ever seen. The ‘little magician’ has won five Ballon d’Ors and has been amazing with Barcelona so far. However, his journey with Argentina has been a roller coaster ride, he has guided them to three finals but yet to win one.

Rumors were all over the internet that Messi is again leaving the international circuit after the unfortunate departure of Argentina from the FIFA world Cup 2018. Fans went berserk and many players were shocked too. Even though it is not the first time he has hung up his shoes for Argentina, he once retired in 2016, when Argentina lost the Copa America final.

Zidane moving to Juventus?

When his ex-teammate Carlos Tevez was asked about this, he immediately responded that Messi is the soul of the team and without him Argentina will be incomplete.

He further added “He has to think that, if there is not a project that makes him happy and in which he feels comfortable, it is very difficult to take the responsibility of leading Argentina to become champions by himself.

“As a player and as an Argentine, I tell him that we need him, that he tries to rest, that he keeps a cool head and that we need him.

“We need him because he is the soul of Argentina and, as long as he continues playing football, it has to be that way because he is Argentina’s biggest idol and he has to take that responsibility.

“Now (I tell him) to rest, keep a cool head and try to be well, then we need him to take charge on the pitch.”

He is right somehow, Messi should take some time off before deciding to take this decision. 2018 has been a tough year for Messi as Barca was knocked out by Roma in a second leg upset and Argentina were also unable to perform well in the WC.

Let’s hope that Messi doesn’t lose hope and we get to see more of him in the international arena.
