ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday declared Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf leader Rai Hassan Nawaz disqualified for life.
Hassan was accused of concealing his assets in nomination papers and defaulting on loans.
Moreover, the PTI leader had secured Sahiwal’s NA-162 constituency from a PTI ticket in the 2013 general election but his victory was challenged by the runner-up and he got disqualified in 2015.
During the session, which was presided over by the Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, the court noted that a five-member bench had already proclaimed Rai Hassan as not being honest and truthful as per the Constitution.
Justice Sheikh disqualified Rai Hassan under the Article 62(1)(f) which manifest that the disqualification is for life.
