SHIKARPUR: Two persons including one woman were shot dead while one minor girl sustained injuries in an armed attack over an ongoing dispute between two groups of Panhwar and Brohi community persons took place outside the village Panhwar-Paleja next to Madeji Town, tehsil of Ghari Yasin in Shikarpur.
The police said that a group of unidentified armed assailants, who were ambushed, opened indiscriminate firing on their rivals, who were going to their village Panhwar-Palija on Qinqchi Rickshaw, which resulted in death of a notable of Panhwar community, Sardar Khan Panhwar, aged around 65 and one woman identified as Naila Parveen, while 13-year-old Batool sustained critical injuries.
Rescue team immediately shifted the bodies to Taluka Hospital Madeji for postmortem examination, while the injured minor was taken to Chandka Medical College Hospital Larkana due to her critical condition. The bodies were handed over to their heirs after conducting necessary medical legal formalities, police added.
The motive behind the incident was said to be an old ongoing dispute between two groups of Panhwar and Brohi tribesmen which started five years ago.
Neither an FIR was registered nor the police have succeeded in arresting the killers till filling of this news story.
