Police recovered 3 hostages from dacoits after encounter

KANDHKOT: Police recovered three hostages from dacoits after an encounter at Katcha area of Durrani Mahar police station, on early Friday morning.

According to police, a vehicle driver, a cleaner, and another occupant of the vehicle named Allah Bux, Rasheed and Muhammad Bilal Awan, resident of Punjab province, were kidnapped by unidentified armed bandits, when they were returning from Pakistan Petroleum Limited [PPL], sub office Kandhkot, after loading material and were heading for field work, police added.

Acting on information, police have cordoned off the Katcha area of Durrani Mahar, where an encounter took place between police and the armed dacoits,where two police constables identified as Gajan Sabzoi and Ghulam Ali Bahlkani sustained grave bullet wounds and were transported to Larkana hospital after providing them first aid at local hospital of Kandhkot.

According to a police official, when armed dacoits saw the strong besiege against them, they managed to escape, in the cover of darkness, leaving behind three hostages.

Whereas, police claimed to have recovered government-issue rifles, which were looted by dacoits, a month ago in an attack, in which one police constable embraced martyrdom while other police personnel sustained injuries, police claimed.

The condition of the injured police cops said to be out of danger.

Further investigation is into the matter, accordingly.
