NAUDERO: Two thieves and one villager were killed on Monday night in an exchange of fire between six armed thieves and villagers after they attempted to steal their buffaloes in Allahando Jeho village of Naundero.
Reportedly, the thieves entered into the house of Ghulam Ali Jeho and managed to steal their buffaloes.
Consequently, the buffaloes-owner found that his buffaloes were missing, and after much hue and cry, the villagers gathered and following footsteps of the thieves, reached Sodho Jeho village.
Meanwhile, the thieves opened fire on them, during which Muhsin sustained critical injuries.
Two thieves were killed on the spot while one was injured, when the villagers fired back on them.
On Tuesday morning, the area police shifted deceased’s bodies to Naundero Hospital for autopsy and the injured Muhsin to Chandka Hospital for treatment, where he breathed his last.
The police identified the thieves as Mansoor Mirbahar, a resident of Bahman village, Babal Shaikh, a resident of Ghulam Ali Shaikh village and Abid Narejo, who was injured but managed to flee.
The infuriated villagers placed the deceased’s body on the main Sukkur-Larkana highway and blocked it with burning tires while demonstrating against the district administration to arrest the thieves as soon as possible.
The protesters including Bakhshal Jeho, Ibrahim, Manzoor, Bashir Jeho alleged that they were facing terrible law and order situation in their villages. “Not a single night passes without a criminal activity. We will not remove the deceased’s body from the road unless the suspects are arrested,” they said.
After six hours, the Larkana senior superintendent of police (SSP) Shabir Sethar negotiated with the protesters and assured them that the accused would be arrested as soon as possible.
Subsequently, the protesters called off their protest and shifted the body for funeral ceremony.
Meanwhile, the area police started raiding on several suspected criminal hideouts while further investigation is underway.
