FIR filed against Sheikh Rasheed for using fireworks in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: A First Information Report (FIR) filed on Tuesday against the Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed and 22 others for, despite the ban, using fireworks.

The AML chief and 22 others, including Rasheed’ nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafeeq, are accused of violating a ban on usage of fireworks.

According to the officials, Rasheed used the firework in Union Council 40 and in his own constituencies NA 60 and NA 62.

Police officer Muhammad Yaqoob filed the case to under clauses 285 and 286 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) which pertain the neglected use to fire or combustible matter and explosive substances.

The FIR stated that despite a ban on using such substances, AML leader and others used it in the city’s Talwaran Bazar.
