Sindh Caretaker Minister his surprise visit to Motor Vehicle Registration Office, Civic Centre on Monday. The caretaker minister was accompanied by Excise and Taxation Secretary Aijaz Ahmed Mahesar and Excise and Taxation Director General (DG) Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh.
During his visit, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah asked people about the problems they faced at the civic centre. He directed the relevant officials to resolve the issues immediately. He also asked the officers to decentralize the registration process and to establish centers at district levels to provide relief to the people. “Officials should use modern techniques to come up to the expectations of the people,” he remarked.
The caretaker minister for Excise and Taxation also directed the concerned officials to encourage people to get their vehicles registered at regional headquarters. He added that this would help reduce the overall burden at Karachi Centre.
On this occasion, Excise and Taxation DG Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh informed the Caretaker Minister that online payment of the taxes would be functional soon and work was underway to complete the task at its earliest.
The Caretaker Minister Mushtaq Ahmed Shah also said that Excise and Taxation Department’s official website should be made more functional. He recommended that a focal person be assigned to address issues pertaining to the department’s modernization.
