More than 50,000 sit UET entry test

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Sunday conducted a standardised entry test for 2018 admissions to different engineering universities of Punjab

More than 50,000 candidates appeared in the test for which 13 test centers were established in different cities.

Out of 50,000 students, 13,387 candidates took test in UET Lahore main campus, 8,000 in Multan, 6,450 in Islamabad, 5,544 in Faisalabad, 3,251 in Texila, 3,158 in Kala Shah Kaku, 3,095 in Sahiwal, 2,757 in Gujrat, 1,875 in Rahim Yar Khan, 1,756 in Bahawalpur, 800 in Mianwali and 528 in Rasul appeared in Entry Test 2018.

The result of entry test would be declared on July 22nd (Sunday) midnight..

While talking to the media, UET Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said “Merit, secrecy and transparency have been ensured in UET entry examination. Necessary arrangements for security of candidates have also been ensured.

He continued: “Considering requirements of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, thousands of engineers from different fields and skilled labor will be in high demand in near future.”

Dr Fazal visited the examination centre and appreciated administration for excellent arrangements. He said that candidates were very satisfied with the facilities provided by university administration.

For proper carrier counselling of students, the university administration is going to organize an ‘Open Day’ event on August 5. The event will enable students to familiarise themselves with the facilities available in the university. It will also help them choose proper engineering discipline favoring their aptitude, the vice chancellor added.
