MALAKAND: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Sunday that his party must not be pushed against the wall. He assured that the general election will be held on time.

He stated while addressing a press conference in Malakand, from where he is contesting for the national assembly (NA-8) seat. PPP chairman added that he has come to Malakand to meet the people despite cancelling his public meetings after the Mastung blast. And he will visit Quetta soon to express solidarity with victims.

”Terrorists don’t want elections to take place. If elections can take place in Iraq and Afghanistan, then they can be held in Pakistan too”. He asserted.

“Free and fair elections are our right. He alleged that local administrations are treating PPP differently than other political parties”. He said while speaking about the hurdles PPP is facing in its campaign for upcoming polls. PPP chairman said that he will take the matter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and stated that all state institutions should work within the given framework.

A controversial parliament will be unable to solve issues of masses, “we have to focus on basic issues like gas and water”. Said Bilawal. ‘A weak democracy is still better than a dictatorship’. He quoted his mother.

Regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s use of derogatory terms for workers of other political parties, he said that its “outrageous”,  a candidate up for premiership should aim to be the representative of the entire nation and not just his party supporters.

He also lamented the incomplete implementation of National Action Plane (NAP), as he commented on security issues. He vowed to the people of Malakand that he will raise their issues at national and PPP is open to the formation of the coalition government as per the party’s manifesto. He answered an inquiry.
