Sadiq Public School marks 63rd founder’s day

BAHAWALPUR: The 63rd founder’s day of Sadiq Public School concluded with a colourful ceremony at the school ground. The event was marked by race, relay race, old boys’ race, tug of war (parents vs staff), karate, Equestrian show and march past.

MNA Abdul Rehman Kanjo distributed prizes among the young sportsmen. Addressing the event, Minister of State for Education Baleeghur Rehman said, “Future of Pakistan will depend on our talented and proficient youth. Despite a recent wave of terrorist attacks, the incidents of extremism have been mitigated. Promotion of education, economy, energy and eradication of extremism are top priorities of the government.” Earlier, he was presented a guard of honour by schoolchildren. The school choir presented national songs dedicated to the armed forces. Sadiq Public School Principal Professor Nauman Qureshi in his welcome address apprised the audience about performance of the school in both academics and co-curricular activities. Sautul Quran Channel: Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Director General Saba Mohsin Raza said Radio Pakistan’s Sautul Quran Channel will start its transmission from Bahawalpur soon. Addressing the staff and artists of Radio Pakistan during her visit on Saturday, she said Radio Pakistan is playing its role for the promotion of national harmony and cohesion among the people. She said Radio Pakistan has educated people about socio-economic, cultural, educational and religious issues. She said Radio Pakistan has a largest network across the country to cater to the needs of people‚ particularly in far-flung areas. She lauded the services of Bahawalpur staff for the promotion and preservation of the centuries-old heritage‚ customs‚ traditions‚ music and literature of Cholistan and southern Punjab. Deputy Controller News Sajjad Pervez briefed her that the Bahawalpur Radio Pakistan was broadcasting two Urdu and Seraiki news bulletins daily.
