ISLAMABAD: A petition has been filed in Islamabad High Court (IHC) against five bloggers including Suleman Haider who have committed blasphemy on social media.

These five bloggers allegedly developed blasphemous pages on social network in the name of Bhainsa, Roshni and Mochi and they have posted blasphemous remarks on these pages.

Petition has been filed by a citizen Suleman Shahid. The ministry of IT, DG FIA and chairman PTA have been made respondents in this petition. The petitioner prayed the court to direct the concerned quarters to block all blasphemous pages on the social media besides taking action against those who have developed these blasphemous pages. The interior minister be also directed not to influence the investigations against the persons found responsible. It is worth mentioning that one blogger Sammar Abbas is still missing while the remaining bloggers have reached homes. However no blogger has given any statement about how they disappeared. An application seeking registration of blasphemy case against Professor Suleman Haider of Fatima Jinnah University has already been filed with I-9 police.

SHO of the respective police station has sent this application to legal branch of police for legal advice. However the respective SHO has taken the plea that this matter does not fall in the ambit of police therefore, police can take no action.
