Talking to the media in London, Hussain Nawaz said, “Today my mother opened her eyes the first time after one month.” “For some time her ventilator settings and sedatives were being reduced,” he added.
“She is still unconscious. Blinked her and don’t know she saw us or not. Prayers requested,” tweeted daughter Maryam Nawaz.
Begum Kulsoom had been unconscious and in critical condition after she suffered a cardiac arrest last month. She is being treated at the Harley Street Clinic in London.
In August 2017, Kulsoom Nawaz was diagnosed with lymphoma (throat) cancer and had since undergone several chemotherapy sessions.
Nawaz Sharif and daughter Maryam Nawaz are in London and are expected to return today (Friday). Nawaz and Maryam will be arrested upon arrival in Pakistan following their sentencing in the Avenfield Reference.
