It started day’s trading at Rs 121.40 for buying, with no variation in value it closed at same value for buying and Rs 121.60 for selling. The European currency remained dull in value versus the rupee as it opened the day’s trading at Rs 142.48 for buying and after 65 paisas change closed at Rs 141.83 for buying and Rs 142.03 for selling. The British currency shed value against the local currency as it began day’s trading at Rs 160.93 for buying, down by 77 paisas and closed at Rs 160.16 for buying and Rs 160.36 for selling.
Open market: The rupee lost ground against the dollar, dealers said. Green back initiated the trading at Rs 124.20 for buying, closed at Rs 124 for buying with a decline of 20 paisas and closed at Rs 124.20 for selling. The euro remained dull against the local currency as it opened the day’s trading at Rs 144 for buying and closed at Rs 143.75 for buying after 25 paisas variation and closed at Rs 143.95 for selling. The pound sterling remained minus versus rupee as it opened trading at Rs 162.83 for buying and closed with a gain of 63 paisas at Rs 163 for buying and closed at Rs 163.20 for selling.
