NAUNDERO: The residents of Hameer Shar village on Wednesday held a demonstration against the former provincial government of Sindh for lack of facilities and resources in the villagers.

Reportedly, the village is situated on the embankment of Saidu Shakh (drain) between Naundero and Garhi Khuda Bux, the ‘political centre’ of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

Meanwhile, the villagers have erected a large banner at the entrance point of their village with a message -we will cast votes to only those candidates who pledge to secure our fundamental rights and initiate development projects after being elected.

They further claimed that there was no bridge to cross over the drain.

“Three days ago, one man died and we carried his body on our shoulders to cross over the drain as if we are living in Tharparkar or a stone age,” the villagers said.

“Not a single elected member of national or provincial assembly tried to address our grievances,” they further said adding that the western countries have reached on the moon while they were still deprived of basic necessities of life including sewerage and drainage system. Moreover, they expressed grave concerns over lack of medical facilities and poor infrastructure in the entire region, and said that women and children suffer the most.

“During deliveries or other medical emergency, we undergo severe psychological torture as we are forced to carry the patients on our shoulders to cross over the drain that takes much time,” they said.

“For the last ten years, we supported PPP, but Faryal Talpur never visited our village to examine our condition and inquire about our necessities,” they maintained while vowing to not cast votes to those candidates who did nothing for their welfare.
