HYDERABAD: Awaz-e-Niswan (Voice of Women, AEN) on Wednesday urged the political parties to immediately dispense funds to the female candidates for supporting them to conduct election campaigns, and ensure appropriate measures for their protection ahead of upcoming general elections. Reportedly, representatives of AEN, the non-governmental organisation that assembles women and minorities on a single platform and strives to protect their rights on the basis of ‘Social Equity’, including Zeb Talpur and Murad Pindrani demanded to implement the Standard Operational Procedure in its true spirit and essence for the protection of women and minorities.
They further demanded to establish institutes for their support on a long-term basis. The AEN representatives expressed grave concerns over water scarcity in the rural areas where women travel several miles to carry water for their families, and demanded reopening of closed schools in Sindh for girls and recruitment of female teachers, accordingly.
