Clothing items every petite girl should own

Author: Ayesha Anis

If you are the girl who owns more heels than flats , who stands in the front of group pictures , who gets excited when her feet touch the ground while sitting in a chair, look no further for the best style advice for your figure.  Consider this your ultimate guide to embrace your height.

While we should all accept no matter what shape, size or height we are, at times you don’t want to accentuate your height. To help you with your height-related issues, here are the wardrobe staples that every petite and short girl should own.

Invest in platforms heels

Ditch those uncomfortable high heels and get ready to pull off platforms. The aim of platform heels is to add a few of inches while providing you less of an arch and is much easier to walk in. Make sure to buy comfy platforms with ankle straps, wider heels and soles with grip. You can get boots and wedges in the platform style. This will not only be comfortable but will also make you appear taller!

Go high-waisted

One of the best ways to appear taller is to wear anything that is high-waisted such as shorts, skirts, palazzo pants and jeans. They will give the illusion of elongated legs by emphasizing the waist. The ideal way to style high-waisted bottoms is with a tucked in blouse or a crop top.

Wear V-neck tops

Wearing V or plunging necklines will give your body an illusion of increased height. A deep V-neck blouse can embrace your necklinebeautifully and will make you look taller than you are.  It is recommended to avoid Round and Boat necklines.

Monochromatic outfits are your best friend

Wearing clothes of the same colors from top to bottom can do wonders for petite girls as it makes the body appear taller.  I would recommend avoiding wearing bright and solid colors as color blocking can make you look short.

Rock the vertical stripes

Vertical Stripes outfits are ideal for short ladies. Clothing items that have vertical stripes will make you look taller and give you a slender look. Horizontal stripes are best avoided.
