RAWALPINDI: A case on Monday was registered against 15 Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders including Captain (r) Safdar for violating Punjab Regulation and Control of Loudspeakers and Sound Amplifiers Ordinance 1965.
Earlier on Sunday, Captain (r) Safdar was arrested from a public rally at Liaquat Road, after National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued a letter that he was an absconder, raiding his hometown Mansehra and Abbottabad.
PML-N leaders Senator Chaudhry Tanveer and Malik Shakeel Awan along Safdar during the public rally delayed Safdar’s arrest as NAB officials made effort. Safdar before his arrest, gave a speech, turning his arrest more into a power show.
A petition was registered in the Waris Khan Police Station by Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Arham accusing PML-N leaders and workers of violation of Election Commission Of Pakistan’s (ECP) code of conduct under the Amplifiers Ordinance for the upcoming general elections.
The petition seeks action against PML-N leaders Chaudhry Tanveer, Daniyal Chaudhry, Raja Haneef, Sheikh Arsalan and Ziaullah Shah along with other unnamed PML-N workers.
The case has been registered under Sections 149, 147, 188, 341 and 3/7 of the Amplifier Act.
According to an obtained video of the rally, PML-N leaders Chaudhry Tanveer, Shakeel Awaz and Malik Abrar apparently safeguarding Safdar before his arrest.
