36 arrested in crackdown against kite flyers in Lahore

LAHORE: 36 kite flyers were arrested on Sunday in a crackdown operation conducted at different localities of Lahore by the police.

Despite the ban enforced on kite flying and making in the provincial metropolis, several people are still involved in making and flying of kites making their acts illegal.

The police apprehended 36 kite flyers in total, from Nawakot, Sherakot, Samanabad and Sanda and also recovered huge amounts of kites, rolls and strings.

Police officials added that the ban would continue by all means possible.

Earlier this month, in operations against kite flyers, about 100 kite flyers were taken into custody from Cantt Division, 11 from Cantt, 12 from Civil Lines, 4 from Saddar, 18 from Iqbal Town and 4 from Model Town.

Police recovered around 4000 kites, rolls and strings as well.
