Pakistan retain top spot in T20 rankings after tri-series win

Pakistan on Sunday retained top spot in the T20 rankings after defeating Australia in the final of the tri-series featuring the two countries and Zimbabwe.

Moreover, with a win on Sunday, Pakistan improved their winning streak to 9 T20 series in a row.

Fakhar Zaman’s aggressive inning thrashed Australia in the final match of tri-series tournament in Harare on Sunday.

Australia batted first and started  batting aggressively. Openers DJM Short and AJ Finch made 76 and 47 runs respectively.The middle order batsmen of  Australia could not face Pakistani bowlers between the wickets and set target of 184 for green shirts.

Fakhar Zaman started opening with Farhan and left no side of the boundary to hit the Kangaroo bowlers. Fakhar’s career best 91 sparked Pakistan near to victory over Australia .The partnership between Fakhar Zaman and Shoaib Malik  made Australian players tired. Shoaib Malik scored 43 runs that helped Pakistan win the crucial match of the series.

Fakhar Zaman  who smashed  91 off 46 balls was given the title of man of the match as well as player of the  Zimbabwe Twenty20 Tri-Series.
