ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district administration on Sunday has issued a notice to Imran Khan and Shahid Khaqab Abbasi on account of defying the electoral code of conduct.
The district administration issued a show-cause notice to both the prominent parliamentarians, one the former prime minister and other the aspiring prime minister, along with thirteen others with regards to electoral misconduct in relation to advertisement campaign.
Other members include Asad Umer, Shakeel Anjum, Dr. Tariq fazal Chaudhary, Mian Aslam, Zubair Farooq, Chudhary Rizwan Saifi, Khurran Nawaz, Afzal Khokhar, Raja Imran Ashraf, Dr. Muhammad Amjad and Syed Sibt-ul-Hasan.
Authorities have given them 24-hour deadline to remove the illegal advertisements, not complying to do so will lead to the legal inquiry and the case will be forwarded to the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP).
For the implementation of the Electoral Code of Conduct, the ECP has stationed special monitoring officers.
