He expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding town planning and urban management at his office. Lord Mayor Lahore Mubashir Javed, officers of PTCL, LWMC, LESCO, SNGPL, Safe City Authority, MCL, WASA, Traffic Police, Walled City, Orange Line, LDA and concerned departments participated in the meeting.
He said that centralisation of NOC issuance would be implemented after further consultation but NOC must also be issued quickly. He said that incomplete restoration work or restoration not as per SOP’s were among important factors which damage a road and main cause of sinkholes. He said to eliminate that discrepancy a solid mechanism would be devised.
Separately, Piracha also chaired a meeting regarding monsoon rains. He said that in case of heavy rain, emergency response must be quicker and prompt. He said that SOP for during accumulation of storm water location wise which agency would drain out water should be clear.
He directed to adopt immediately anti dengue measure in storm water filled grounds and parks. He also directed that as rain dropping crossed the limit so traffic police must barred the road and divert the traffic on alternate routes.
In the meeting, MD WASA Syed Zahid Aziz, SP Traffic M Asif, DO Dr Shahid and officers of LWMC, MCL, Lorri Adda administration and other officers participated.
