Adiala Jail prisoners express their desire to cast their vote in the upcoming elections

As many as 400 prisoners housed in Adiala Jail have submitted an application seeking to cast their vote through postal ballots in the July 25 polls.

The inmates desiring to exercise their right to franchise submitted the application to the jail authorities.

The application for the postal ballots was later forwarded to the district returning officer concerned.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has extended a cut-off date for persons with disabilities to submit applications for postal ballot papers until Tuesday.

According to a statement issued by the commission, special persons, who have been issued National Database & Registration Authority national identity card specified for disabled persons, can send their applications to their respective returning offers till Tuesday to get postal ballot papers for casting votes.
