HYDERABAD: The Sindh National Tehreek (SNT), a Sindhi nationalist party, on Saturday expressed deep concerns over dubious role of accountability courts for their failure to carry out investigation into alleged corruption committed by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his family.

Reportedly, the SNT leaders demanded accountability courts to hold Zardari and his family accountable for looting Sindh’s resources during PPP’s tenure of ten years as a provincial government.

While addressing corner meetings in adjoining villages of Hyderabad including Khabar, Teejho Kolhi, Saindino Mallah, Tawakal Ali Mirjat, Malang Khan Noonari, the SNT chairman Ashraf Noonari pleaded with the accountability courts to grant a same kind of punishment to Zardari. “Just as Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz looted national wealth, Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur plundered the resources and wealth of Sindh,” he said adding that the people have been deprived of basic necessities of life including food, potable water etc. He expressed hope that the people of Pakistan have awakened from their long and painful slumber, and would not vote for Waderas, Pirs, Mirs in the upcoming general elections. Later, he urged the people of Hyderabad district to cast their votes to his party instead of PPP and MQM.
