Sir: I feel that too much focus is being given to the Avenfield verdict and as many times before I am worried about what this is aiming to cover up. Each time the media goes into a frenzy we find out later that we missed something big. I want to know what it is this time. One thing could be the fuel prices. They keep rising with each passing day, with no real reason it seems. The global prices are falling but the fuel is still rising, and I am forced to wonder why.
If Nawaz Sharif is arrested, the media will go into another frenzy, and once again we will end up ignoring the real issues. We aren’t talking about water or climate anymore. We aren’t focusing on unemployment. We aren’t even talking about the fact that most parties haven’t released their manifestos yet.
Nawaz can go to jail or he can go to Timbuktu, we all have to stay here and we need to learn to revise our priorities so that we do not lose focus of the bigger picture.
