KARACHI: Pakistan People Party (PPP) Senator Raza Rabbani on Thursday remarked that ‘engineered elections’ never resolve issues.
While addressing a ceremony in Karachi, Rabbani asserted that he feared that the 18th Amendment of the Constitution might not be rolled back after the upcoming general elections.
He added that state institutions were turning aggressively hostile with one another and the parliament had been weakened.
The PPP Senator predicted that after the ‘Election Day’, there might not be any political stability left in Pakistan.
He further said that Pakistani nation can not possibly tie its hopes with a ‘Choon Choon ka Murabba’, which is expected to form government after July 25.
Rabbani, presenting a somewhat analysis over the current political environment said that rumours are surfacing that provincial powers are being withdrawn just so they reside with the capital.
He added that the masses were engripped in different thoughts, elite and the masses have become like two sides, thinking and voicing different things.
