Dreadful defeat waiting for PPP: Pir Sadruddin Rashdi

KARACHI: “GDA believes in democracy and wants fair and transparent elections,” said Pir Sadruddin Rashdi during an address on Thursday.

Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leader Pir Sadruddin Rashdi, while addressing his workers in Karachi said that a dreadful defeat was waiting for PPP in the upcoming elections.

Pir Sadruddin instructed his workers to follow the discipline of election. He said that Pir Pagara had especially advised his followers to follow the rules. He said that other parties should also follow the election laws.

Earlier, Pir Sadaruddin Shah Rashdi held a meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders.

According to party sources Sardar Rahim and Nand Kumar Goklani from GDA and Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Faisal Subzwari and Aamir Khan from MQM-P participated in the meeting.

“MQM-P and GDA decided to support each other’s candidates in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas and other districts of Sindh,” said a senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F), under the condition of anonymity.

However, neither MQM-P nor GDA have issued a formal statement announcing an alliance.

Earlier, GDA also sought the support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in some constituencies in Sindh.

GDA candidate Arbab Raheem, withdrew his candidature from NA-220 in favour of PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Shah Mehmood Qureshi showed his contentment with the support from GDA.
