Stop ‘harassment’ of Pashtoons: KP PA tells Punjab

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday passed unanimously resolution on the harassment of Pashtoons in Punjab demanded of the federal and provincial government to take practical steps against racism in the country.

The assembly session was chaired by Speaker Asad Qaiser and resolution was moved by Hafiz Sana Ullah of Pakistan People’s Party.

In the resolution it was said and condemned the arrest of Pakhtoons in Punjab, adding that such kind of act will create differences among the nations.

The resolution further said that a large numbers of Pakhtoons living in Punjab and was working in different sector and playing their role in national exchequer but for the last many days they were been harassed and arrested by Punjab police.

Earlier, Parliamentary leader of Awami National Party Sardar Hussain Babak presented adjourned motion on the issue and condemned the arrest of Pashtoons in Punjab.

He added that racism is on the peak in Punjab, adding that Pashtoons were the most affected from terrorism from the last so many decades but they were not blame on anyone.

He added that terrorist and banned militants groups were residing in Punjab but despite action on the militants groups in Punjab, The Punjab government were banning on Pakhtoons.

He further lamented that India were targeting and were killing innocent people on the border but Wagah border were not closed , adding that the government were only closed Torkham border to affect both Pakhtoons on the border.

He added and gives threats that if such kind of behavior were continue from Punjab the KP people will stop to give Power to Punjab and closed the Tarbella Dam which were providing huge amount of electricity to the country.

Nighat Aurakzai of PPP said that the issue of racism was choosing by the Punjab government to divert the attention of the people from Panama Leaks.

She further added that Pashtoons were never terrorists but they were sacrifice of their brothers, sisters, fathers and sons sacrifices in the war against terror.

She added that terrorism network were in Punjab, adding that if such kind of racism continues from the Punjab then we may see such like situation of East Bangladesh.

Bakht Baider Khan of Qaumi Watan Party said and condemned the harassment of Pakhtoons in Punjab, adding that Punjab always behaves like a step mother with Pakhtoons.

He added and suggested that all members of the provincial assembly should stand and raised voice of the Pakhtoons, adding that we were setting here for the rights of Pakhtoons and if can’t do so we must all resigns from the assembly.

Pakitan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and Minister for Public Health and Engineering department Shah Farman said that it is not the battle between Punjabi and Pathans but it was the battle of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz because whenever they were in power they were behave like step mother with the people of KP.

Jammat-e-Islami leader and senior minister Inayat Ullah Khan said and condemned the Punjab government, adding that it is a sensitive issue and the federal government should take immediate steps.

He added that most of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Identity Cards were been blocked but many times the assembly passed resolution but no action was taken by the federal government. Raja Faisal Zaman of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz said and condemned the incident, adding that being the representative of PML-N our party condemned this incident.

He further added that we will in contact with Punjab government including Chief Minister and Inspector General of Police (IGP) and will soon identified those people were behind this conspiracy to divide Pakistani nation.
