ISLAMABAD: Former President and Pakistan Peoples’ Party co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday claimed that Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif has sought political asylum in London.
Zardari in an interview, asserted that PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif should be careful as the vote bank still belongs to his brother Nawaz Sharif.
The former President in his interview, hinted, advising Shehbaz to remain cautious as the power (vote bank) will shift to Maryam Nawaz.
He added, while responding a question regarding disgruntled PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, that he may not have issues with Nisar but with Nawaz Sharif indeed.
Zardari expressed that he wished and hoped to see his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as the prime minister, however, adding that for a start he can learn while playing politics sitting in the opposition.
Former president denied any claims of coalition with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan.
Zardari upon being asked about the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) asserted that in Sindh the bureau has been ineffective since the 30 years, still holding him accountable without any result.
Earlier Nawaz Sharif had pled the accountability court to delay the verdict in Avenfield reference, adding that he was not a dictator who’ll run away from accountability.
Nawaz while talking to the media outside Harley Street Clinic had said that he wanted to hear the verdict in the references against him but when hes present at the court with his daughter. He added that his wife was lying on the ventilator since the past 21 days.
On the other hand, Maryam Nawaz said that she is willing to pay a high price and even go to prison for the path she has decided to tread.
The accountability court is expected to announce the verdict of Avenfield reference on July 6.
