RAWALPINDI: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi has imposed a ban on holding ceremonies and functions in and outside private and public schools and colleges due to security concerns.

The functions have been banned in pursuance of the orders of the chief minister Punjab.

A notification has been issued by the deputy commissioner to all the schools and colleges directing them to implement this order forthwith in letter and spirit.

Through the notification the DC Rawalpindi, Talat Mehmood Gondal, has directed the heads of the schools to ensure foolproof security arrangements in their respective educational institutions in the wake of the recent wave of terrorism in the country.

The managements of private schools in Rawalpindi have welcomed these directives.
