Public holiday in twin cities on March 1

ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was held to review the security arrangements for the ECO Summit.

The district administration and high ups of the police from Islamabad and Rawalpindi participated in the meeting in which the security plan was approved for the ECO Summit. It was also decided to give foolproof security to the heads of states and their delegations. In this connection it was also decided to facilitate the citizens and there will be a public holiday on March 1 (Wednesday) in the twin cities while all government offices and educational institutions will close at 1:00 pm today (Tuesday).

The meeting also approved the traffic plan for the twin cities according to which Kashmir Highway from Zero Point to Serena Hotel Chowk would remain closed for all kinds of traffic for two days from 12:00 noon today.
