Reportedly, the SALUTA president Prof Dr Ameer Ali Chandio presided over the meeting, and strongly condemned the victimisation of the faculty members, particularly assistant professor and syndicate member Ishrat Ali Mirani, who has been consistently targeted for raising voice against corruption.

They SALUTA members also resolved to initiate series of protests against the administration considering it liable for malpractices and mismanagement. The meeting urged deans of all faculties to refrain from being part of ‘anti-teacher’ actions of the administration.

The SALUTA also warned the administration to not repeat the ‘legacy’ of former vice-chancellor Abdul Hameed Memon, who ‘politicised’ and ‘divided’ the teaching community. The meeting requested the sister associations of SALU to not avail tour package of 2018, so that amount could be paid to pensioners whose cheques were not cleared.
