Yashma Gill’s ‘Ki Jana Main Kaun’ can prove to be another milestone for Pakistani dramas

Author: Ghazal Hanif

Yashma Gill is back with another project ‘Ki Jana Main Kaun’ which is the newest addition to her drama serial endeavours.

Written by Uzma Iftikhar and Furqan Sahir, this drama is directed by Mohsin Talat and started airing on June 27, 2018. The drama features Yashma Gill alongside Minal Khan, Faizan Khawaja, Khalid Anum, Annie Zaidi, Zainab Qayyum and others. Here is what the first episode was all about.

The drama starts with Mehr, played by Minal Khan, who is engaged to her cousin Taimur played by Saad Qureshi

The Khala-Zaad Behan

The drama starts with Mehr played by Minal Khan who is engaged to her cousin Taimur, featuring Saad Qureshi. Further in the episode we are shown that the so-called love Taimur lavishly showers on Mehr is a façade. He is in reality after the money and inheritance she will get from her father, particularly his business.

Then comes Anaya who is Taimur’s cousin, and playing a dominant character in the drama. She is the one Taimur’s mother wanted to marry him off to, but since her background is relatively poorer, Taimur refused. Impeccably played by Gill, Anaya is shown as a jealous, materialistic and frivolous girl who is obviously influenced by her ungrateful and greedy mother. Her father is dead and she is the apple of her mother’s eye.

Gill is successfully qualifying the demand of her character. She along with all others on the set has performed brilliantly in the very first episode and the pace for the drama has been set. It has caused enough interest for us to be waiting eagerly for the next episode.

I can’t wait to check out the next episode to find out how Gill and other characters will play their role.
