LARKANA: The hoardings, containing pictures of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Women Wing President Faryal Talpur, were removed from the office of Chandka Medical College Hospital’s (CMCH) medical superintendent Dr Ali Gohar Dahri when Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal’s (MMA) leader Rashid Mahmood Soomro visited his office on late Monday.
Reportedly, Soomro visited the hospital to inquire about the health of patients while the pictures of PPP leaders affixed to the walls of MS’s office irked him.
Soomro, the MMA’s candidate for NA-200 constituency of Larkana was accompanied by provincial assembly seat’s candidate PS-11 Moazim Abbasi and a large number of supporters.
Meanwhile, he impelled the MS to remove the photos immediately or affix images of other politicians as well. However, all photos were detached from the hoardings except Benazir Bhutto’s image.
The candidates said that they have ‘a lot of respect’ for her.
Later, the civil society of Larkana urged the district administration to only affix portraits of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and ban depiction of politicians’ images in the premises of government buildings as an effective measure to prevent institutions being politicised.
